Digital Photo "Sharpening" Overview. Virtual Lecture

  • Stephen Johnson Photography (map)

A Lecture Guiding Photographers to better edit their digital files.

Zoom based Virtual Session, May 10, 2023, 6-7:30pm PST

$45 (limited to 20)

A lecture concentrating digital “sharpening” techniques from Photoshop to my explorations of Topaz Sharpen AI. This is a practical, down to earth lecture meant to enable students to create a greater illusion of focus in their digital images.

Focusing your camera and having a fast enough shutter speed is the best guarantor of sharp file, but we can create a great illusion of sharpness without making our files look artificial.

This lecture takes my experience in Photoshop added to my playing with Topaz Sharpen AI and presents usable editing workflows.

On registration, you will be sent an email with a password to log onto the Session. Email info@sjphoto.com with any questions.

Online Event hosted by Stephen Johnson Studios & Gallery

Thank you, Stephen. The lecture provoked much to think about and feel; what we see and say in an image, and what is essential.

As an old film-darkroom photographer, I sometimes find all the choices of digital imaging to be overwhelming. I have especially struggled with printing. I recently attended a Stephen Johnson Critique Session at his Pacifica studio in hopes of getting some feedback on my digital prints. I have never learned more in such a compact amount of time. Steve is generous and giving of his vast knowledge of digital imaging. He also gives advice in a manner that not only improves your technique but also refines your photographic vision. I would highly recommend these critiques to anyone interested in being a better photographer.
