Stephen Johnson Photography. Pacifica Center for the Arts
Photographer Stephen Johnson has curated, edited and printed and exhibition of new prints from over 50 years of Space Photography. This mind-blowing journey of a Space Photography Exhibit evolved out of Steve’s longterm interest in the space program and views offered of the heavens and by spacecraft far away. This is an expressive look at photographs from NASA and others parading wonders of the very large and distant in this printed exploration of photographs Steve had been gathering for years.
50 Years of Space Photography. Our Moon, Solar System, Galaxy and the Universe Beyond
50 Years of Space Photography features more than 52 photographs from planetary probes, the Hubble and Webb Space Telescopes, and NASA’s manned space program. A tribute to Apollo 11 on this 50th. Anniversary of the Moon landing is featured. Stunning photographs recovered over the last decade from the 1966 Lunar Orbiter are paired with remarkable new lunar landscapes from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. New photographs are added as they sent back to Earth and NASA makes them available. These 40 inch prints allow a drama and intimacy rarely seem in these wonderful photographs.
This exhibition was printed on the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 with its auto roll paper feeder on Canon Luster paper. Paper and ink supplied by Canon through Steve’s Canon Explorer of Light relationship.
This exhibit also features some of Steve’s photographs of the space program. Steve’s original prints and Public Domain images he has printed from the Space Photography exhibit will be for sale.
